….
It’s how long it took me to find
You, truly see You. It’s the space
between who I am and who I hope
to be. It’s the me far from mirrors
and doubts and tearstained dreams.
It’s the shredded seams of scars
long healed, fear concealed. It’s
the beat between my tired heart
and heaven’s open smile. It’s the
mile I still need to walk in some
-one else’s dirty feet. It’s the win
and the lose and the breath held
in between. It’s this sapphire sky
and my constant why and every
dying leaf falling on an empty mum
-bling breeze. It’s my husband’s
faithful, laughing face; Your
astounding love, painted in grace.
