Unpeeling the Earth

The cogs
are clogged
and some screws
are loose
and the middle mechanism
is pretty much shot.

So he unzips her skin
burrows within
and wrenches free
a few feathers,
a dust bunny
and one
purple argyle sock
and then
tightens and
tightens
until he can tighten
no more.

Ozone layer be damned,
he’s starting with
the core.

An interesting take on the image.

I like! Perfect match. Wouldn’t this be lovely on the newspaper front page! Not just a gear but an eyebrow or two might be raised.

  4. Got to have a strong foundation, after all.

Perfect! Tess is right about those socks ~ I’ve always wondered where mine go.

Starting with the core. Nice. And I saw a little argyle in this one too. You must be on a pattern kick. 😉 Love “unzips her skin.”

Great take on this prompt and to go with this very unusual pic … from the inside out … how lovely.
