Even the
floorboards say go for
-ward, open
door waits, gapes.
But see, much light is cast right;
small windows frame truth.

I couldn’t wait to get out of this painting!
This is my favourite of the paintings. I love looking at it.
I like your counterpoint of the door and window possibilities, the question set up, the what happens, left to us.
I love these ekphrastics, Margo. Thank you!
Ooo…I was especially taken with the length of lines drawing one forward in the floor boards too, De!! I really like what you’ve done with light and truth framing them like this!! Excellent tryout my friend!!
I picked “van Gogh’s Diner!” Smiles to you!!
I really like “Even the floorboards say go …” and “… small windows frame truth.”
Thanks, all. It’s funny how a painting just starts to speak to you, if you stare at it long enough. At first I was going to choose one of the others, but I LOVE doors, and those floorboards flowing outward just wouldn’t shut up. 😉
I like what you did with this painting, De. “Small windows frame truth” is wonderful….sometimes the focus is clearer in small windows than in large!
I like very much your impression of an impression – and quite right to go where the poem/picture takes you.
Love your title and the pondering of this painting!
