She is samovar
rolling, pounding roil
combustible in her own skin
softened saucer of sopping slap
-happy backhand black-bottomed burn
bathing in her own ask
-ance paced accompaniment,
sliver of silence
crag of qualm
distilled, willed

A ‘samovar’ is a highly decorated tea urn in Russia, but the language literally means “self-boiler.” Fantastic. Thank you, Shawna, for this new vocabulary word. 😉

Glad you have a she teapot in your repertoire too. 🙂

    Love these, especially the sound:
    “pounding roil”
    “combustible in her own skin”
    “sopping slap”
    “happy backhand black-bottomed” … Okay, so now I’m picturing naked back-handsprings. 🙂
“bathing in her own ask” … Sooooo my favorite.
“ance paced” … If you spoon-flip this, it says “pants aced.” 🙂
    ”crag of qualm” … Love.

The yoga mama in me just loves “willed calm.” I was Buddhist in another life … or I will be one day. … Just joking. Don’t stake me.

  3. Your tone change and this:

    “sliver of silence
    crag of qualm
    distilled, willed

    LOVE this poem, De!!

wicked flow you created here. Placement is everything at times, as this one really moves with a fun and rapid intensity. Nice job incorporating the monday melting words as well. Thanks
