Grace, Escaped

Let’s loose it
to the lost, lose
our inhibitions
and the cost of
deeming ourselves un
-worthy of making change.

Let’s paint it
on the sky, spread
forgiveness wings
and fly, sing free of
second chances and how
far east might be from

Let’s shine it
in the dark, hold
out open hands and spark
the world into knowing
as it spills and spatters –
we’re all broken, and we matter.

  1. She stole mine. I’m speechless and my heart’s breaking with the beauty and grace that spills in this. Thank you my friend. ♥

De you’ve Graced us with another amazing poem (yes, I did that amazing grace comment on purpose…). Flowing and heart-full-filling 🙂

Paint grace on the sky: what a beautiful image! I like forgiveness wings too. 🙂

“and fly, sing free of” … Dude. Did you just say “sing free of fanned fly”? That’s like fake flying on faux air, when there’s a strong, genuine, natural breeze for us to soar on instead. Or maybe that’s “singe free of fanned fly.” That’s like when all those summer bugs are fluttering around your fruit and flowers and you have to burn them up to get them away from your goodies. 🙂

“out open hands and spark” … My brain turns this into “spark out open-hand sand” … I’m not sure what that means, but I’m picturing a beachcomber holding sand in one hand and a lighter in the other. Can you catch sand on fire? I wonder. Probably not a good idea while it’s in your hand. I’m pretty sure that would hurt quite badly.

Man, I’ve been gone too long! Your words have such pop; such a rhythm. Your poetry should always be read aloud. FAN-tastic. And how you can include in that such poignant meaning… man, the last line (in conjunction with the title,) give it all such depth.

Use your words.
