…
Oh, wily fox, sly dog,
cool cat.
Snap!
I’m caught; you win.
Dirty rat,
you snaked
your way on out of here.
What makes
you think
you’ll ever worm
your way back in?

As always, less is more and beautiful. Great job.
Oh, I imagine this dog/fox/cat will indeed insinuate him/herself again!
I’m imagining this is in response to braggarts or sideline critics – anyone who has to repeat your mistake over to you in an unkind manner; or just catch you in some underhanded way just so they can point out your errors and at the same time point out their own lack of errors. But perhaps I’m reading too much into this! Projecting my own insecurities! 🙂
Like the way you used ‘snake’ in addition to the prompt word. I think it strengthened your usage of ‘worm’
I agree. Snake is very clever in this context.
I’ll just weasel my way in. Loved this. Mosk
Gorgeous, De! Love the way it slithers along all the animals, especially the final snake-worm. Also the rhyme < 3
As always, I’m green at your cleverness!
Fool you but once, eh?
Short and sweet, says it all. Nicely done.
I just want to say yes to this. Yes, yes, yes. Love it! Thanks for linking up!
