Skid row needs a jelly sandwich.
Or some motley
(this means diversified, varied,
not shabby – look it up)
list of ingredients to bake
into this side
………(of the tracks)
-walk trip. Un-clatter your
own platter, catch some
sweeter slice of crust, and trust
tomorrow’s cotton paradise corner
to take care of itself. Someday we’ll
think outside these cardboard caves,
celebrate the manna-morsels we
remembered not to save, leave be
-hind our signs and come what may.

Wordled.
“walk trip. Un-clatter your
own platter, catch some
sweeter slice of crust, and trust
tomorrow’s cotton paradise corner
to take care of itself.”
Love this!!

Thank you, Hannah. 🙂
🙂 Love your first line. And then the definition given of motley… funny how, despite what the definition may say, we still do think of it as shabby!
A homeless miss, I’m seeing. What a sad, sad state, when you actually and truly think about it. “Come what may” – that is indeed all the currency they really have.
A jelly sandwich is a start, indeed. The answers are complicated, but a jelly sandwich and some hope…. well, again, it’s a start.
Yes..a jelly sandwich would be nice..i love the process this poem takes us on..
Really like that cotton paradise corner…thinking I’ve been there,
