…
Forget the bottle,
Love. Scribe your song
directly on my skin. Haven’t
we weathered enough seas
for one lifetime?
We have burst our boxes,
Love. These scars are too
deep for ink, and salt.
The stars have things
…………to say
if we listen.
You hold me
……….to it
…and I
will hold
……….you.
.
Written for Poetic Asides, Day 3.
I’m imagining a shipwrecked couple! Or perhaps it’s just someone talking to their alcoholic spouse (forget the bottle!) Which actually would make a lot of sense (either way, but I was thinking of the alcoholic bit).
Just lovely, De. And I love how that last stanza flows like a wave.
