…
Everything’s ending.
This vast and tired space we’re standing on
and the race we’re running and the faces
we’re carrying into the wind –
and that camel over there, who’s had one too many
straws. The laws of physics and gravity and Murphy
all agree, it’s pretty much be
-ginning to be over from the moment
it begins. It’s curses, foiled again
and exit stage left and curtains closing
and…scene. Fin.
But hey, that perpetual motion machine
…………….hope
carves its places
deep in the heart, because
every thing’s ending
is something else’s start.

Written (rather quickly) for Quickly, Day 29.
The set apart ending/beginning brilliant and spirit lifting. Beautiful work this month De!! I’m proud and honored to know you! 🙂
Thank you, my poetical friend. Backatcha. I’m pooped. How ’bout you? 😉
Thank you, De!! Yeah…I’m pooped and snotty…the cold I warded away for a week caught up to me…glad it’s now and not then…now we rest my friend, (sort of)… 😉 Poets never rest. 🙂 xoxo
This is beautiful. It goes with the one previous to this… I could see those people feeling the same way – and the only thing keeping them going is the “perpetual motion machine.”
The poor camel 🙂
Love “Fin” and “that perpetual motion machine.”
