Running for (Van)Couver

..

Raise your gurgled,
rattled voice and
steep my coffee in
something stronger, love
,wood, energy, peace.
Crystallize my art
-ist sway.

Choose to
rhu
(barb)
the day,
and then grow
me something lean,
green and sustained.

‘Nother word list from my Shawna.

Oh wow, I love this! Love the hippie van at the opening; we’re all heading out for a road trip. That’s what I picture, anyway.

♥ … “in something stronger, love, wood, energy, peace” (you have a comma/space problem there)
    ♥♥ … “Crystallize my art-ist sway.”
♥♥♥ … “Choose to rhu” (rue) … oh no, wait; choose to turn your sorrow into barbs and stab the day instead … Like, toughen up and just go after what you want.
♥♥♥♥ … “grow me something lean, green and sustained” (beautiful; nature, veganism, making do with what you have [when money is lean]) … less is more, as long as it lasts

Nope. Comma space issue is on purpose. I wanted “love” to be both a term of endearment, and part of the list.

      • Shawna says:

I did read it that way. I just didn’t know your line-hopping comma was intentional. 🙂

Also, excellent title word-play. Running for cover. Running for the van. Running for Vancouver. Perhaps you are running from the law into another country with all that “green.”

  3. Too damned talented, you are. Loved this.

    Love this kind of Barb-ary!

  5. I’m imagining a princess talking to a frog… about to hightail it to Vancouver, or Mr. Van Couver, as the case may be, once she figures out whether this frog is going to turn into something more sustainable. Or at least make her a decent cup of coffee!
