…..
they scooped out a spot
high on my thigh that used to be
shaped like a
heart,
and i know it’s all going to come
back clean because nothing
ever amounts to anything
but $50 copays
and our share of the bill,
but i miss it,
that little tiny heart
I found just a few months ago
on my own
thigh.
….
You’ve really been through the mill this year, De.

This one really is no big deal, Misky. My new skin doc’s not at all worried about it. It’s just weird how you can miss a mark on your body that you didn’t even realize you had, until a few months ago. š
That’s good to hear. xx
Misky, I got the all clear on this today. Precancerous, but that is very common, and they “got it all.” Follow up in 6 months, routine, but NO further worries about that spot. Thankful. Thank you for your caring heart.
$50 copays? That’s ridiculous. I would love to rant here about healthcare and its costs, but just suffice it to say that I thank God every day that I do not have to rely on the healthcare system, and I sincerely want to make that last as long as possible. It’s way too expensive for everyone and anyone.
But the poem – a heart shape – you’d figure that’d be a lucky spot, not one that needed to be dug away! But I’m glad they got it.
Wow. That punched me. Especially the title. Bio Psy(chology), which allows me to (because of the silent “P”) morph it into Bio Sigh.
