the trick, stirred

….

finding what we did
……….n’t lose
yet
existing.

…….(look,
………….quickly)

brer rabbit
…….(liar, liar)
hasn’t got
a briar patch
to speak of.

it’s a stick
-y sit
….you
-ation, shaken.

sometimes, the whole
world
is made
of tar,
.
……………baby.

Today we were asked to take a previously written poem, and add a trickster.
    My original is here:

I knew I remembered this poem, sort of.

“sometimes, the whole world is made of tar, baby” … Indeed it is. I love the way you embedded “trickster” in the title. It jumped right out at me in my feed.

  4. I spit up my Snapple on the last line. A great knee slap De. Thank you!

  5. “sit you -ation” 🙂 Another name for a time-out! Love it.
You definitely added a trickster, with the title and the brer rabbit!
    And the ending is awesome!

🙂 Big grin, time for gin (maybe even without the ‘tar-nic’.
