Satin Sparrings



They punch
in petals, gyp
-sum flower moon
-stones, prismatic-scratched
and warm to the touch.

She surfs in sulfur
evaporated seas
silver drained
………(strained)
…………(trained)
……………(rained)
to salt flats, deep beige
caves inhaling clouds
of orange, pink,
opal.

Paint her a light
red copper, or iron gray,
vitreous in her optical ill
-usion of twinning
………….and sway.

  2. This cold be the making of a wedding dress. I love the line “vitreous in her optical ill” – I imagine she is having normal second thoughts about getting married.
