Last Exchange

In her deranged haze,
she’s taken the S
-train too seriously
and much too often,
sustained herself in
feigned tracks and traipsed
chains.

Enflame her, chant
her name, fill it
with syllables
not her own. You’ll see
she’s grown.

She’s vacated the bat
cave, but she’s counting on
her es
……….-cape.

  2. She does need to get out of that bat cave- too confining and not enough room for her to stretch her own wings – or have her own real cape!! I like the word “enflame.”
