Oh, but De … you are already both. Writing time being a rare resource does not take away from the fact that you are the most amazing poet I know. (And you know I’ve been exposed to many-a-great poet). Parenting comes first, and I know from your always-consistent display of heart and morality that you are a loving parent poet pirate princess. ā¤

this poem tells me you have your priorities in the right place šŸ™‚

  3. Gotta echo our loving “Good” friend above and I must say that your poetic sentiment rings so true for me as well…sometimes it feels impossible but when it’s time and the words are there we grab em and growl…sometimes that’s the only way. You’re rocking it, de – this mama poet knows it and I send you strength for the torn feelings that come from being both a parent and a poet. Sigh. ♄

It doesn’t really matter if you have time or not. You either are a parent or you aren’t. You either are a poet or you aren’t. You are both; there’s no way around it. A poet is a poet whether she is currently writing or not. It’s who you are, not what you do.

  5. I can relate. It’s hard to be a parent and anything else!

Use your words.
