And just like that,
the door slams.
Right on cue,
a window opens,
but it’s
all shim(mer)
sham(bled)
and flim(sy)
flam(e).

You are one of my favorite poets; the way you play with words is inspiring.
Thank you so much, Kir. Your support means so much to me.
“Mer-bled sigh.” That is awesome! And perfectly describes your poems. Pretty close to “marbled” too.
I knew you’d see that mini poem. 😉
I think that “e” might be a second syllable in sigh. You know how some cutesie women turn “bye-e” into two syllables? I think I could turn “sigh-e” into two. 😉
I love the word “murbled.” I think you just invented it. What do you suppose it means?
Perhaps a cross between a mumble and a murmur. I shall murble from now on, henceforth. 😉
I read this first as “Barn” – the barn door shutting. Anyway, the emotion in this – expectation because the door slams – then something that carries an expectation of reward – the window.. but then poof, those expectations are quickly shot down. Love the double poem there.
