I Know This Much Is True

I am a poet.
My children are part of me,
………..but have begun their leaving.
I am grieving this.
The sun will rise tomorrow.
The moon is keeping secrets.
Nothing means anything without love.
There is always something to be
………..thankful for.
1+1 still=2

Brilliant response to NaPoWriMo’s prompt, which could easily have produced stale work. Beauty, yearning, hope…you capture all of these incredibly.

Loved this, kind of reminds me of the list of things worth living for at the end of “Manhattan.” Stellar.

  8. Well, I can assure you that your kids will circle back… eventually. It is a torturous process while you are living through it. I am still living through the separation with one. But the oldest has circled back. This much is true “nothing means anything without love.” Who cares about the anyone’s secrets when you have this truth!

Use your words.
