Erasing Stars

Lumbering out of the water at night
by daybreak, they return
widely speculated, but
two worlds
found
–fed on
flow of
river.

Changes in rainfall
concentrate in pools;
the importance of
because
is

intimately linked to the fate
and functioning
of
stars.

An erasure poem for NaPoWriMo, day 21.

    Wow … great erasure.

Hey, too, congrats on the shout out from Maureen at NaPoWriMo.net today. You deserve it, De.

  2. I love hippos!
And because is SO important to everything, I must agree!

I love that when you offer the visual erasure, the eyes can put different words together, out of your intended order. Like this: “they return, speculated, widely two worlds.” And “found flow of fed-on river.” Also, “changes of rainfall pools the importance of is.” Then there’s “functioning of and, intimately linked to the fate-stars.”

  4. Mia says:

    Ear-racing stars. šŸ˜›
