i drink too much
coffee. see,
when i reach the
bottom of my cup
i’m supposed to
get up
and do something be
-sides
play
with all the
fun
words.
and it’s over
-cast today,
so all i want to
do is play
with all the fun
words.
so i’m sitting here,
sippin’ and grippin’
my keys, unlocking
the sneeze of syllables
onto page.
are you stirred? let’s stay
awhile and pile ourselves
under black kern
-als of thought, tiny pieces
caught in craw, clacked
raw, just play with
all the fun:
words.
some say that poems
are overrated. well,
at least i’m well
caffeinated.
..
happy monday. happy writing.
let’s stay awhile longer, yes?
shared at Poets United poetry pantry.
Haha Good one!
Jitters? 😉
I was just thinking today how you like to play with all the fun words!! And there you go…:)
Good one!
I’ll stay and play words with you! Mine’s a non-caf though (sacrilege!)
Well, well, well–very well done 🙂
thank you for the smile! i only have one cup of coffee a day ~ it’s a 24 ounce cup, but i only have one.
the power of coffee – inspires you to find the words.
Oh my word, I freaking LOVE this poem!!!
“caught in craw, clacked
raw, just play with”
This, especially. I love the idea of playing a game of “With.” 😉
Ha. I just started reading this comment, and I was like, “Ooh, I like this commenter! How fun!” Then I saw that it was me. 😛
That happens to me allllll the time, when you post as a new name/avatar. 😉
Love the way the end of a line leads us somewhere unexpected. 🙂
“tiny pieces / caught in craw, clacked / raw,”…hmmm…enjoyed a lot….thanks 🙂
Playing with words.. Love that one too.. and certainly caffeinated 🙂
What fun. I do think the words brew with the coffee. I’m thinking of trying to see what would happen if I didn’t caffeinate Someday.
I love this, De, especially sneezing the words onto the page!
So my mom has always called a bra a “bray” for fun. So this time, when I read the title, I saw “Bray Wing,” which of course means “Bra Wing.” So now I’m picturing a dragon trying to put on a bra, working around those pesky wings. 😉 She’s really frustrated, by the way.
I bet she is. Which I imagine results in some fiery breath…which gives new meaning to “burning her bra.”
PS: I like the word bray. I think it needs to be in a poem today.
What word did you give me earlier? I have no bray-n today.
Caffeine is more over rated then poems. Keep the words.
Glad you played! And your poetry is definitely NOT overrated 🙂
Ha! Funny how the caffeine and the poetry go together! 🙂
