Happy, on Hiatus

We wait for snow.

And breath, and slow dark ebony
coffee and the blind be
-lief that the earth will keep
spinning with great élan.

We pause just north
of dawn, knowing there’s
a child somewhere
with more questions,
but a smile that just
might keep us sane.

prompted by a prompt each day, day 3.
