My sense of a-where-ness
comes in small comforts –
the shiny snake of a scar
where a bad scrape has
healed, the twigs braided
into my hair after hiding
under whispering trees.
Come, catch a wayward
fairy with me by the firefly
light of all this silence.

Nice, very nice. For about a week there were only a few ‘blinkers’.
But last night the back yard and the trees, while not full to capacity was, well lit.
We don’t actually get them here, in Southern Nevada. I miss them, so I put myself somewhere where they come.
This one caused me to feel small again…thank you, de!! 🙂
a-where-ness – I love. The snake and the twig – what wonderful images. As well as the “firefly light” of the silence. Beautiful!
I love that comma in the title. Also the first line and this: “the twigs braided into my hair”
Beautiful journey through scars overcome 😀
Yes, de – I agree that the comma in the title is especially effective. Also, I just love “the firefly light of all this silent” – there is an awesome eeriness and beauty both, to this phrase.
