    What stands out to me is that you’re asking the moon to bare you (get you naked) while you’re asleep. I think this is ever the poet’s/artist’s/musician’s cry: to be mused, and/or given permission, to bare his/her naked soul.

    Also, if the moon represents a person, she sounds beautiful and sweet. But you’re asking for shadows, for darkness … your own. So maybe you’re wanting to be completely real with this person … at which point, maybe you’ll discover that the sweet, pink “moon” is darker than she seems.
