Un

..
(I am becoming)

something other than skin
and bone, a lone street
-light in the darkness,
a lost love found
by moonglow.

I am be
-coming a re
arranging of lines,
a fine point widened
by the fluidity
of your presence.

I am
become
-ing
someone who lost
crave(n)(d) images of you,
shedding shade
like shadow, a flood.
A famine.

Oh.
The heart makes the simplest
things so damn(ed).
Much fun.
Complicated?

Yes.

…………..And also. Un.

  1. Kir Piccini says:

Oh yes, becoming and unraveling. These years in my 40’s are all at once about this.

  2. Mary says:

Wow, you wove these words into a wonderful tapestry. Seamless!

  3. You truly do magnificent things with words..
This one really stuck with me:

    shedding shade
    like shadow, a flood.
    A famine.

and the heart making it damned… you can excavate such interesting things from your words.

  4. Glenn Buttkus says:

Your style, in its uniqueness, brevity, & line breaks fascinates me. You illuminated & incorporated the phrases after you overhauled them, made them your own. The lines /I am/become/-ing/someone who lost/ resonates with me.

  5. kanzensakura says:

What a piece of art this poem is! Such an interesting and unique use of the lines. I envy that.

  6. Grace says:

Skillful word breaks De and you totally made the lines so different & complicated ~ Love the un-words specially:

    I am be
    -coming a re
    arranging of lines,
    a fine point widened
    by the fluidity
    of your presence.

  7. I like how the I devolves to Oh! As it really should! We work so hard at becoming, with the “I” in mind. But oftentimes it does become complicated!

  8. Just let me echo Mary – it is a tapestry woven of beautiful words.

  9. Ah.. for me.. tRuly heaRt makes
    everything easy
    losing the
    reasons is
    hard for me
    but well worth
    it to live as heArt..
    smiles.. with as few
    reasons as possible
    other than passion for LiFEnOW..:)

  10. Violet says:

I am becoming un. I am becoming gun.

    Love this:
    “light in the darkness,
    a lost love found
    by moonglow”

    Love this too:
    “I am be
    -coming a re”

    “A famine.
Oh.” … A fam(ily) in no. This is so interesting. A divorce, maybe. Yeah, I think so.
