tiny poems

..

she speaks in smallish syllables,
pocket songs. give her a moment
with the moon, a measuring of
spoons, the spill of sea. she’ll free
it from latitude and long
-itude of praise, phrase it bijou
on the bayou, wayward drop
of absent rain.

  1. Ellie J. says:

    Love these:
    “wayward drop of absent rain”
    “phrase it bijou”
    “she speaks in smallish syllables”

“Pocket songs” wants to be its own poem, FYI.
