(and other just desserts)
..
The world is made of cheese.
Okay, not really.
But won’t somebody please
fill all these holes
with pimentos
or pistachios
or something?
It’s nuts,
the way we spin about
and shout
our art
(i choke)
……and other hearts,
take stock slowly
of nothing.
You’ll take
the cake
(and eat it, too.)
Philosophy is still
cereal box talk,
and laughter is a
honey lozenge.
Just let me stew
(and simmer, si(f)t)
and roll it ’round
a bit on tired tongue.

I enjoyed the wordplay in this one, kiddo.
We definitely need some holes filled. Pimentos and pistachios sound just fine to me.
“Philosophy is still
cereal box talk,
and laughter is a
honey lozenge.”
Wow! Plus Artichokes! I love me a poem which includes art and I choke! Aptly titled and full of passion. Thank you.
Love the “fill the holes with pistachios and pimentos” …wish we could. Seriously.
You’ve got a gift! This is most wonderful. It’s going to stick with me through the day. Love it!
Stew yes but unless we start boiling vigorously things will only get worse.
love the wordplay, sweet filling up and honey lozenge laughter….sigh…
I think what we used to get inside of bubble gum was better than the ridiculous that they are serving up these day.
A fine stab at life’s recipe.
art
I choke
and chuckled… so innovative.
Such clever word play…a fine poetic recipe…the world is nuts indeed but i like that honey lozenge..
Very clever specially this part:
our art
(i choke)
……and other hearts
If only we could fill all the potholes with cheese 🙂
Excellent food/life references!
A recipe for grinning too. Thank you for this deliciously astute write. ❤
A diverse delight!
