After

..

Give me gills.

Spill
my inky indigo heart to sea,
free me to the waves
I longed for in my
legged days,
then let me
breathe.

Pour me
out a
siren’s song,
some syllabled
strain of
half light
and liquid shadow.

Barter me some
fins
and a color tangled
shimmer spangled
tail that swims

happily

…………ever.

  1. Marie Elena says:

Oh this is soooooooooooo you! Love, love, love, LOVE!!

  2. Ha ha ha. Ooh, T/A. You crack me up. Love that “poor me” too.

“sigh wren (so me), sill-abled” … a little hidden poem

I’m not a fan of liquid shadow, as in makeup. Oh wait. I’m thinking of liner. Liquid shadow is actually way cool. I love how cold and slimy it feels … like a mermaid, I suppose.

Lots of goodies in “fins” too.

“and a color tangled” … Love this. Hey, I’m getting that itch again … to dye my hair. I’ve got some plum in the cabinet. But I think I’d better refrain. My hair’s getting so long. Better to keep it healthy, I think. Do you think mermaid’s “dye” their hair? They can probably just change it at-will with their magic.

“s/himmer SP/angled” … Now you’re doing it too. 🙂 Also s/whims. It’s addicting, isn’t it?! Like when you used to do the “de” words in every poem.

    Hap-pilly
    Eve-er

I see where you’re going with this. Eve in the ocean, ODing on some good stuff to make her sink to the bottom once and for all. You want to go with her, though. A little girl on girl suicide. I know why, too. You know the power it’ll give you to write when you come back from the other side. Seeing death like that, especially your own … being that close to your own demise … it’ll give your writing darker eyes. And that’s really what we all want to read, isn’t it?

    Oh yes, you convince me!

  11. Ah a water spirit, just as I was thinking about how long whales live in the deeps, and not for me! Maybe you convince me otherwise.

  12. Ohhh, to be that loose and free. Lovely.

  13. Wonderful fantasy. I could do that
