breaking up with a sky scoundrel

..

silly moon. grin
all you want at this
crazy dim sky. you and i’ve
got issues. you lull me
with your brilliant bubble
heart, then leave me to dance
alone. i think i am finally
immune to your falling,
fickle spell.

{swoon.}

…………………….oh, well.

.

It’s Q44 (my favorite!) time again, over at dVerse. Come play!

  1. Very nice! I love the Q44, too. It’s a great exercise in saying much with few words. Peace, Linda

  2. katy says:

Woot woot! You know what that means, don’t you? If you’re newly “single,” then we can go out dancing for ladies’ night somewhere! Girl dates are seriously the best night ever. No sky scoundrel could ever comp(l)ete. 🙂

  3. katy says:

“leave me to dance heart” … Man, that is a dumb-o thing to do. And completely unintentional. I would never leave you on purpose. You are NOT fin-ally alone. I’m with you.

  4. katy says:

“fickle spell” so easily becomes “tickle spell” 🙂

  5. Grace says:

I swoon over the bubble heart & fickle spell ~ Dancing crazy may be a good thing after a break up ~

  6. Love how you took it to the moon in no uncertain terms. Its so clever to begin with “moon” and end up (almost) with swoon. Kind of rhyming bookends.

  7. Bodhirose says:

Love this, De! Seems you couldn’t quite make the break though. 🙂

  8. Mary says:

I find the idea of being lulled by a brilliant bubble heart quite relaxing!

  9. C.C. says:

I love how you incorporated ALL the quadrille words to date….clever 🙂

  10. kim881 says:

The moon was the first thing that came to my mind too when I saw the word grin. I’m glad you stayed with it. 🙂

  11. Oh I love how you have used all the words.. Bubble and grin can lull me to dance

  12. Bryan Ens says:

I debated using all the words too, but couldn’t find a way to do it without being akward…this poem was anything but awkward. Love it!

  13. Very nice and so full in very few words!

  14. Glenn Buttkus says:

A nice twist here, & love the inclusion of the other prompt words. Moon madness, angst, tidal rifts–not your mother’s moondance for sure.

  15. ghostmmnc says:

I think the moon won that round, as she fell under it’s spell again. Who wouldn’t swoon under a beautiful moon? 🙂

  16. Lovely moonlight can entice one to its fancies but alone one dances to its tune. How true and how lovely De!

    Hank

  17. Snakypoet (Rosemary Nissen-Wade) says:

Yes, the moon is just too enticing.
