A little giddy gets hungry.

Poverty turned pink
in the beds of strangers,
arranged to meet
several someones
for drinks, with

earnest. Oh!
what a nice long
(slightly soft)
chat, that afternoon pass
-port into the surf.

Foreign service
she’s left in a hotel
lobby in her skimpiest
bathing suit.

  1. oh, that ending. been there

  2. Shawna says:

Ha ha ha. Too much fun. 🙂

I love the way you made me picture a tryst with Ernest Hemingway. Also, it reminds me of The Garden of Eden, one of his books.

    What a fantastic opening:
    “Poverty turned pink
    in the beds of strangers”

    Also “not-with-standing” might mean “with-lying-down.”

  3. Ouch.. never trust such tryst…

  4. Ooh. Love the ending, and those excellent word breaks.
