Gourmet Cheeses

..

I bought two brie-ses
and a havarti ready to party.

You brought some cheddar
(not just gouda, better).

We
(stopped the world and)
melted them together
and I gotta say I am
fondue you.

But the odiferous
aftermath breeze?
Let’s skip
that part, please.
..
One more cheesy breezy tongue-in-cheeky submission for dVerse’s Quadrille today.

HA HA HA! I’m very fondue this poem 🙂

Wow, you certainly chased away the blues! I think we could make a queso you being the most original. You shredded the usual understanding of breeze. Can’t say no; that’s nacho prerogative.

    • whimsygizmo says:

Ah, Carley! Your comment really got my goat! I mean, it bleu me away. There’s nothing grater than a punny jack to crack a joke that just gets better with age. Edam and weep! 😉

      • Charley says:

Quiche! It’s so seldom I havarti responses like this. Ricotta be the only ones who are fondue to the lack of response. I used to be a punner, but I’ve been curd.

      • whimsygizmo says:

Curd is the word, you cad. Hole-y cow, that comment took the cake! Asiago forward, I’ll be sure there’s always room for you to wedge in a fun comment slice or moo. 😉

  3. Grace says:

    Clever with I am
    fondue you.

I love cheese so this melts my heart 🙂

  4. Oh the wordplay in this delights. And how you included breeze. I love how you seem to twist things up with such ease.

Let’s cut to it here – lest I milk the puns more than I should perhaps, I’ll just dip into this and say, The more I read this, the grater it gets. as far as the stinky aftermath, the Japanese would say: Nioi chīzu (stinky cheese). Love this and just laughed aloud.

Yes, we’ll just concentrate on the cheese! Chuckles De! Love the light-hearted lines!

Chuckling out loud I am over my second cup this morning! 🙂 LOVE it! 🙂

  11. You, De, are the ULTIMATE master of words! The way in which you brandish them about, popping them in and out and over and under and all about, making multiple meanings and playing with rhythm and rhyme and throwing colour and sound and life all over the place — well, you really take our collective breath away! I never knew language could be this real and this fun at the same time.
    Thank you! 😀

  12. Mish says:

This is not cheesy at all…it is brilliant. Very very gouda!!!

  13. Rosemary Nissen-Wade says:

Hahaha – love it! But then I’m from Wisconsin, of course I’d love a cheesy poem!
