That morning steeped in scent of sea

Blame it on the breeze.

The way the trees whispered us
a sorrowsong.

The way the sky cracked
open as if we’d both
gone mad.

The moment when I sneezed
and you breathed
God bless you
and for once I realized
He already had.

It’s Quadrille day at dVerse! (My
favorite.) Come play!

that last stanza…the part about sneezing gave me a chuckle as it was so unexpected…and for a moment I thought you were going for humour…but then the “punchline” of how blessed you are…that really got me! Beautiful!

  18. Covering all four with this one comment: De Jackson, you’re incredible! I absolutely adore your work!

  19. The moment when I sneezed
    and you breathed
    God bless you

He’s still very sane to be able to respond in the right way to the sneeze
