..
i am a monument of broken.
spill of sea
salt, smudge of ink,
pink eraser dust
apricot sky. i lie
in soft tones
of intricate eggshell
blue. i
mourn no thing;
these cracks are where
the last long
golden strands of sun
spill through.

VER GOOD ONE—WITH HOOPE!
“i am a monument of broken.” Shades of cummings! A wonderfully understated poem that packs a punch of reflection, rereading, and ruminating.
This is so very beautiful. I love reading and writing “I am” poetry–this stands out. Applause!
Opening line is superb De ~ And line breaks too specially i lie ~
This is incredible. the first line simply stuns one. Bravo on this one.
we are each beautifully broken – love the sun shining in
Sounds like a beautiful painting…a painting of a life lived well, yet imperfect, as we all are.
Beautiful. I love the hopefulness of the sun shining in through the cracks.
I always savor the originality of your images.
I love the blue. i
So much that just ties it together in that.
I love the touch of hope in the end. ❤
That pink eraser got in again! 😉
Absolute beauty of expression, in the context of what seems to me a terrible resignation.
This painted such a wonderful picture. Like a painting with the sunlight breaking through it. Loved it 🙂
Oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolors could not paint what you’ve expressed so DE-lightfully. You remain my idol!
always. the sun is my favorite spilt thing
and your title’s nod to Hemingway is so hopeful:)
As others have said…..first line is so very powerful. The title — brings hope for hopeless situations. Life moves on — even in turmoil – even in broken-ness.
Oh, I like this, very moving, very beautiful. I like it all.
Woo – super cool.
There is so much mystery to this piece. I love the beautiful descriptions. And the last three lines? Very nice!
