falling into blank spaces

..

wrangle pen. begin
the excruciating dance
of cat and mouse
pad. lull ink
bubble to grin.

melt yourself into an
indigo shimmer-twist-skip
of gold and green breeze
of spill, a rose-colored
glass half
full. journey-jar your
soul with silence,

the silent
(s)laughter
of leaves.

..
A second offering for the dVerse Quadrille. I’m hostin’. Come play!

  1. Love what you did there:
    the silent
    (s)laughter
    of leaves.
    Brilliant!

  2. I so prefer the laughter to the slaughter… But for the leaves they are often just a few weeks apart.

  3. Fallen leaves here got (s)slaughtered for mulch for the garden. The double-sided edge …

  8. I’m in love with the verbs you use in this and these lines:

    melt yourself into an
    indigo shimmer-twist-skip
    of gold and green breeze
    of spill,

    DE-licious.

  9. I enjoyed the word-play, particularly ‘(s)laughter’.

  10. Mish says:

Your word wizardry is magical in this quadrille! The (s)laughter is so clever.
    Love it, De.
