A Chair, a Stair and a Half-Eaten Éclair

..

The preacher’s got another
story for us,
girl. One where
the truth is un
-leashed, creased
down the middle
and unfolded on
a
(four-and-twenty blackbird)
golden throne.

Rapunzel’s there,
and she’s unlocked,
brushing
up on her blond
phonics and the
histrionics of
(once again,
sigh)
climbing.

Daze later,
a porcupine walks
into a bar
where Nietzsche
fin
-ally
plays guitar.

Still having some fun with Shawna’s word list. 😉

  1. Shawna says:

    That is the best title!!!

    Ohmahgosh, I love these:

    “brushing
    up on her blond
    phonics”

    “Daze later”

Nietzsche playing guitar. So many hearts for this. 🙂

  2. What a clever use of all those words, and you have to love that old Nietzsche playing guitar… though I always thought he played harmonica.

  3. Shawna says:

Oh, today I noticed the half-eaten E! So now, she’s an E Claire. I’m picturing her throwing some sort of horizontal three-fingered “gang” sign every time she shows up somewhere. Then her name is Claire, and also, she wears all kinds of goodies from Claire’s … you know, the store in every mall in America. Plus, maybe she works there … as an ear-piercer. And maybe she dates Pierce Brosnan.

I love her! Write a poem about her. 🙂
