…
I’m writing. I’m fighting.
I’m flighting my fancy
out into the sky: a
swirled-up mess of
strange. I’m (un)boxing
my shadows, inviting
them to play. I’ll say what
I mean and (not) mean
what I s(l)ay. I’ll stay.
But only when fear
b l o w s away.

A fourth offering for the Q44 over at dVerse. Come play!
Oh the unboxing of shadows, the playing and the slaying, what a wonderful world you create.
I liked all the rhymes on “play”.
I feel like this shadow prompt is one of the best we’ve had…it keeps inviting me to write more. Fear is such a shadow in our lives. I always have fun with your wordplay. Love “s(l)ay–kinda like my writing sometimes. :0>
Shadow boxing and unboxing – wonderful!
‘Unboxing shadows ‘ love it — all of it 🙂
I like the feeling this invokes. It opens my mind like the sky
I love the way(s) you hide your secrets … like “moon-boxing” and “b(e)l(l)/ow-ing.” Sometimes it DOES hurt. 😛
I really like the contradiction in “I mean and not mean.” You know I feel that.
An intriguing piece of whimsy.
