…
The day bullies us
bid goodbye to the midnight spark
-led blanket of hope, rope
ourselves into some small semblance.
Sky cracks
open, broken. We bow
and cow to clock, the tock
of ticks until
it dawns on us
(voila!)
Early sky is best.
Rest.
..
It’s Quadrille day. Bjorn’s at the bar. Come play!
the tock
of ticks until
it dawns on us
(voila!)
Early sky is best.
Rest………………………… Love. Early morning is when I am most creative – that’s when I usually write
I agree: the early sky is best, more colorful and cooler.
The sky cracks open…oh yes it does!!!
Yes! Early sky is the best…so brief and clean. No matter the season.
I’m a night hawk and not an early bird, even though I do love seeing the beauty of a sunrise. Yes, the day can be such a bully. Too many to do’s.
The best time for me De ~ Love your response ~
There is such joy in your ticking of clocks. But I cannot help to prefer mornings to night,
the powerful opening and the lilting closing! love it! 🙂
Love the alliteration, De, that sounds like sky cracking and the ticking of a clock.
Voila!! ❤ I, too, love the early sky. 🙂
I’m tickled by the idea of day bullying us. 🙂
I too adore that early sky… sigh… 🙂 gorgeous work, De ❤️
Voila indeed….tough call for me as a photographer between early or late sky…I love them both equally.
Those early hours of freedom from the world. Well caught.
Beautiful when read out loud. Loved xxoo
East sky IS best. Love sunrise and your poem.
You are so completely De! And this proves it. You, the poet’s poet!
“cow to clock, the tock
of ticks”
I love this. 🙂
That darn clock…we look at it all day and night.
