suspended moment

(a leaky bit of moonlight)

under a dark-haired driven
threadbare quilted sky,
driven bursts of clawing
breath

and the muted cry
of unglazed small
-boned crows
dreaming murder,
death –
muffled blooms
and fretful sleep.

Let me catch my breath! Whoa. Fantastic.

  2. I definitely need to reread this and absorb it. Layers.

  3. violet says:

I adore how the title plays with that parenthetical: “(a leaky bit of moonlight)”

    Love:

    “and the muted cry
    of unglazed small”

    “under a dark-haired driven”

  4. Kir Piccini says:

    …a quilted sky

    Lovely.
