Space for Quill

..

Greetings, I am enamored to have met
someone so fair, so graced from deep within.
Never have I known a bright soul yet
so full of magic, madness, heaven, sin.
Bright crimson lips, and skies of clearest glass,
I’ll scribe your moniker within my scars.
Kisses under cloak of night, whispered fast –
a perfect storm under all these royal stars.
Full druncen I am on your wandering way,
but you’ll return each time you wayward leave.
Both rose and thorn I am, and as you stay,
you’ll find me deep within in your darkest dreams.
…….Oh, I have parchment with a gaping hole,
…….perhaps to write your name upon my soul.

..

Just under the wire for Kim’s awesome Pop Sonnet prompt over at dVerse from Thursday’s Meet the Bar.

Gorgeous, De! I just have to work out the song.

Very nice sound to this sonnet. The “write your name” makes me think of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, but I might be way off.

  4. Jade M. Wong says:

Is this…Blank Space by Taylor Swift? Regardless, this was an awesome sonnet! It reads so upbeat and fun ^_^

  5. kim881 says:

I’m glad someone else got it – I don’t know anything by Taylor Swift!

A beautiful sonnet De ~ I didn’t know you can rock a sonnet form ~ This is my favorite part:
Both rose and thorn I am, and as you stay,
you’ll find me deep within in your darkest dreams.

  7. I don’t know Taylor Swift either but it’s a wonderful sonnet!

It’s been a fun thing to notice that “pop” music means something different to everyone. 😉 We are all different ages, and many from different countries. Makes a big difference.

Thank you all, for your kind comments. This was a fun prompt, and I’m glad I finally made it over. Loved all of your pieces.
