..
The clock is ticking
(me off)
again, tocking too loud again,
clicking and clocking
the hours lost.
The moon is mocking
my lack
of sleep, my uncounted sheep,
the tilted cost of thinking
too hard at 2am.
I, too, am stilted,
fried, filtered through
by too much gravel
and noise, too many
doubts. Too much why.
Too much why. That’s great
Yes indeed, it at those times of ” unsleep” that the most question are there for the answering.
Much love…
This is so apt and powerful, De! 🙂 I can relate to the clock ticking noisily while we are trying to get some sleep. Beautifully penned. Thank you so much for participating.❤️
Perfect description of that unsettled, unsleep feeling.
I will say it again, you are the queen of perfect line breaks. The first two lines are perfect. They made me grin… while nodding. 🙂
To much why… yes that’s one I know.
At night your brain is caught in inattention alowing those vague and errant thoughts to come in.
