(a shadorma)
..
fog me in
with sky and silence;
cold wet clouds,
amber rain.
these little cat feet know things.
are you listening?
.
Amaya at dVerse has offered us a form I love, the Shadorma.
My fifth line refers to a poem by Carl Sandburg.
“amber rain” … gorgeous
Oh, yes! We’re both whispering to the fog today! I love how you put words together – and your reference to Carl Sandburg
Beautiful, quiet, Sandburg cat fog!
yes, we’re listening ~
Mm, delicious. There is so much going on, so muc to learn and listen to. Thanks for the reminder.

I like the cat feet and the feeling of hunkering down in a storm.
Ah, fog, amber rain and little cat feet! You know how to make me sit up and listen, De!
This is beautiful, De. So delicate and yet suggesting a grandiose power. I know the Sandburg poem and remember a choral version I sang once as a child, ending with a redemptive declaration, “And then…moves…On!”
Oh, I love this. You always take me somewhere unexpected.
I like this!!
The cat feet… love that reminds me of the small hands of cummings
I am surrounded by fog a great deal lately. Beautiful poem, De.
I like idea of fog seeming like a prison. It does short of block the vision and perhaps emotions.
This is a delight–love the way you worked in the reference to the fog coming in on little cat feet. 🙂
Another lovely shadorma.
I like the reference to “little cat feet.” I have a Tshirt with that poem on it for San Francisco.
