That I Might (Not) Be a Trochee,

..

I am wearing my most significant scales,
an anti
…………{love}
-poem, unformed. A snap
-dragon(fly). An elm.
The helm of a whispered ship,
…………………..a tintype moon.

Soon, you will see
that I cannot stop the quiet
casings of these (wr)etched battle scars,
……………..these threaded guitar strings
…..and w(arn)ings. Allow me
to transcript this sky, favor candy-clouds
……….and the irresistible lamentations
of a curious mind. Give me no feet. I am
-bic(kering) with my own dangerous skin.

Begin me
something akin to a natural-dealt flush,
……..the rush of indigo
and unmeasured r(efr)ain.

Poetic Asides April PAD Challenge, day 24. Somehow today a second one ended up with all the prompts. 😉

I am so glad you mentioned an anti-love song. You reminded me of this awesome song:

    These are my faves:

    “Soon, you will see
that I cannot stop the quiet”

    “sky, favor candy-clouds”

    “and the irresistible lamentations
    of a curious mind”

“Give me no feet. I am
-bic(kering) with my own dangerous skin.”

The whole last stanza … Begin me … the rush of indigo … r(efr)ain … You are so awesome. 🙂
