…
I have decided
……………(she thunders)
that these last cold drops
are mine,
…..saved
for a sunny day when
arched and angry eyebrows
know the sky shines quite too bright
and I need just one little plop of
…………….rain
to make me feel whole
……………………..again.

Kim is promptin’ our Quadrille Monday today over at dVerse. Come play!
…and then save some of that sun for the middle of the storms
I need to save some for now. We’re already in the nineties here. And the reminder from the weather man that there is a stage 1 water restriction, only makes me want to back to the cool days of Spring, (early). I looked at the temps in upper Michigan and wish I was headed there this Summer.
That one drop of rain can save and see us through ~
The title pulls it together. We should all have a few raindrops in our pockets we can pull out and plash about when needed!
Wonderful writing!
Nice alternation between the bright sun and the little plop of rain.
I love the title – it made me imagine a hand tucking a storm into a pocket! That little aside in parentheses thunders throughout your Quadrille, De, and I love the sound of raindrops, as I imagine dropping from a gutter’ at the end:
‘and I need just one little plop of
…………….rain
to make me feel whole
……………………..again’..
kaykuala
and I need just one little plop of
…………….rain
to make me feel whole
……………………..again.
If only the weather can be more forgiving and predictable!

If we could just save some sun for when it rains and some rain for when the sun is to bright… bless them both… love the title (maybe you should write one about the pocket sun as well)
Beautifully tender… sigh.. if only we could save a little sunshine for when there is rain and vice versa 💜
I like your idea of saving a precious plop of rain in your pocket…in spite of those angry, arched eyebrows!
Oh, I wish we could do this! I love “arched and angry eyebrows.” 🙂
Cool idea, these saved plops of rain!
I particularly love those last two lines…’just one little plop of rain’ to feel whole again.
Oh my goodness I love your imagination, De. It runs as wild as the rain!
Oh my goodness I love your imagination, De. It runs as wild as the rain!
I love the spiritual implications, based on the line break after “I have decided … (to follow Jesus).”
