Theory of Nothing Whatsoever

..

We chase the algorithms
of the breeze, form a premise
for the gibbous moon. Speculate
upon her glow.

We have formed a hypothesis
or two, or three,
about these shattered
scattered stars.

We can wax forth eloquent
and strange about the
scarlet spill
of sunrise.

But we’d rather
put on tutus. Dance
in the rain.

Merril’s got an awesome prompt over at dVerse. Come play!

    Yes. 🙂

I want a whole walk-in closet filled with tutus, and cute jeans to wear underneath them.

Say, this is neato: The youth minister at the church we attend Sunday and Wednesday evenings gave a pair of jeans to my husband to give to me. They were his wife’s favorite pair in college — $180. I’ve never had anything like that! She just had a baby, and they don’t fit anymore. I guess she thinks they never will. So I’ve been wearing them all day. 🙂

My oldest is all about the theory of relativity right now. She used her birthday money to buy manga text books on Amazon. She’s reading the physics one in her free time. 😛 Such a silly goose.

  3. Shawna says:

I really love this poem so very much. Especially how “algorithms” could also be “I’ll-go rhythms.”

  4. Mr. Walker says:

As much as I love “algorithms / of the breeze” – and perhaps even chasing them from time to time, yes, let’s dance. I’ll even put on a tutu. Love this poem!
