dandelions in the rain

..

she wears a scarf
of scribbled poem fluff,
just thick enough
to
……………(warn)
warm
us. and her voice cracks
open this one last stone
of truth:

the day’s a storm
of sting and silence
and we’re all just
waiting for that flower
umbrella’d hope.

A second offering for today’s Q44. I’m hosting. Come play!

Is that “flower umbrella’d hope” anything like the “fickle finger of fate” De…? Sorry, don’t know where the hell that came from… I like your piece here.

  2. Grace says:

I love that scarf De. Also beautiful end line with: umbrella’d hope.

  3. lynn__ says:

    I love this:
    and we’re all just
    waiting for that flower
    umbrella’d hope

    De-lightful 🙂

Awesome ambiguity in this quadrille, De: a woman like a dandelion or a personified dandelion – I love both! I especially love the ‘scarf of scribbled poem fluff’ and ‘flower umbrella’d hope’.

  6. Maybe we all are in the end just hoping for our little seeds of words to grow…

  7. M says:

maybe the sun will come out, after all ~
