bubble bubble
toil and trouble,
eye of storm
and hint of truth.
the world’s gone
all
(we’re all mad here)
multi-colored chaos,
and now it’s only
in magic swirl of words
that we can lead
and curl and kern
and stir our souls
ascloseasweplease.
.
in april, we poem. some Mondays, we Quadrille. come play.
You swirl the most magical words of all! Please hush away this multi-colored chaos!
This did feel magical as I was reading.
“Eye of storm and hint of truth”… it’s that hint of truth makes it an ominous line. I really like that magic swirl of words at the end. Patent that last word.
This is wonderful “now it’s only
in magic swirl of words
that we can lead
and curl and kern
and stir our souls” and all hail and thanks to the quadrille for that amazing end word creation!
We need WAY more than a hint of truth! Love your closing line, De. Yes, it’s in our writing that we can “close” the gap between us.
An interesting poem of witches brew!
Interesting take on Shakespeare. May this soon be over! Magical brew but you are blessed – as close as we please. Oh my yes.
I like adding a “hint of truth” to the ingredients.
You’ve captured the spirit of our days… and excellent last line!
Wonderful, De. Yes, please, do find the proper spell!
OMG this is precious! Luv your take on the prompt De
Thanks for dropping by to read mine
Much💗love
There does seem to be a lot of poetry about at the moment. At times like this we yearn to share emotions with others, I think.
& when all this is done, maybe a poem-led recovery too? (oh yeah)
Ha ha! Love that clever last line 🙂
Great last line…control what we can…(k)
I love the ending De, ‘stir our souls ascloseasweplease’. This closeness is truly powerful at this time. Hope you and yours are all safe and well xxx
I love how you ran that last line together. Perfect.
I do love that ending… let us keep our souls closer than ever.
It will hopefully happen sooner than later that we can all come together agian
Boom! Perfect.
I love the title and the ending. You are a creative soul. Thanks for sharing this.
yes…love that last word so closely knit…!
LOVING the title paired with the opening….and then that last line! Abracadabra may we finally be ascloseaswecanbe! Stay safe.
The rhythm of this poem reminds me of a Disney Channel witch chanting over a cauldron – scary yet waiting for that canned laughter to let us know that this is all make-believe. Your call to action for us poets have been heard! This may be our reality yet your remind us of the magic of our medium.
A delightful play on the Weird sisters lines!
