we are reborn
in these deluge moments,
heavens cracked open and booming
sudden protest of all this desert
dry. in drops of liquid hope
from broken cloud,
redemption falls from sky.
we unfold our hands
and
rejoice in
water only thrown,
streams without stones.
It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse, and I’m tending bar. Come play.
Thank you for the prompt. You did an excellent job in capturing your stream.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the prompt.
Loving this one, De, that I find to be wonderfully layered. And, of course, living as I we do in deserts, appreciating those streams without stones…badly needed here because of the wildfires. Can’t even see my mountains right now.
The fires are crazy this year! We were just up in Tahoe for two nights on the tail end of our daughter’s graduation celebration trip, and we sat at Sand Harbor on the Saturday and watched a “cloud” roll over the eastern mountains, slowly. I knew it was smoke, and read about the fires that night. Praying for all the firefighters, residents and wildlife. SO good to see you at dVerse today!
An interesting concept… rain is a stream without rocks!!
I do like the idea of the heavens throwing water, instead of stones. 😉
Yes, for sure!
rejoice in water only thrown,
streams without stones.
Love the simple joys that are accorded to us in your write, De! Thanks for hosting today!

I like your take on the prompt. Nicely done poem.
I absolutely love, love this De! Especially; “in drops of liquid hope from broken cloud, redemption falls from sky.”: Sigh .. 😍😍
Wonderful, De. The stream from above is cleansing and releasing us. I especially like the opening, “we are reborn
in these deluge moments,”
Thanks for the liquid hope.
I feel like we do need the storms to grow. A great reminder to give thanks even during trials! 👏👏
Lovely stones and streams word play!
Beautiful!
I had so much fun with your quadrille this week. Thank you so much, and I really enjoyed reading your response to it.
Well composed. A comfortable read I enjoyed.
I could use some redemption like that in Jerusalem these days!!!
Lovely imagery, De!

I love the spiritual feel in your quadrille …. lovely, De. And thank you for the challenge.
How clever this is De!
“liquid hope from a broken cloud …. redemtpion falling …. Love these phrases! Beautiful poem.
Breathtaking ending. Well-done.
Like being born…(K)
I like the religious theme here, where “redemption falls from the sky” and we open our hands in joyous thanks, like singing in the choir at church.
Rain of rebirth – a perfect pairing.
“redemption falls from sky”
Love this poem, De!
“redemption falls from sky.”
This is really beautiful De: resounding with the echo of redemption!
