and all its glories
,
our stories
and our songs
the ways we Braille
our way to shine
in
(fallen)
followed stars
the days we know
that all of this
is ours,
so seize the daze
and whim
the wave
and
spill
our
salt.

It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse, and I’m hosting. Come play!
You were also drawn to the sea, like me! I love the phrase ‘seize the daze’ – simply wonderful 🙂
I love how you incorporated the title here. and hinted at that old saying “salt of the earth”
we are in good company with those stories.
some wonderful verbs you have mined here De – salted with puns!
Oh this is so good! I keep reading it over and over again.
“the ways we Braille / our way to shine”
It does take some creativity doesn’t it.
I love (what I’m guessing are) your grains of salt at the end.
The light of courage shines in this poem.
Nice one!!!
Much love…
…and leading to a lovely finish..
Oh, I love the last line. Cheers to spilling the salt, perhaps over the shoulder should that be needed.
Sieze the daze and spill the salt! An interesting take on the prompt!
Just the right portion of whimsy.
I just read this three times, it was so lovely!
Beautiful De!!!!
Lovely poem.
…and whim the wave…. oh I love that!
Totally delightful!
Ingenious, De.

Love the verbs and the feeling of celebrating life.
“and whim
the wave
and
spill
our
salt. ”
Amazing ending! 🙂
“seize the daze
and whim
the wave
and
spill
our
salt.”
Whimsical and delightful.
Thank you all so much for the kind and generous comments. I’m loving everyone’s Quadrilles! ❤
such a creative and fun weaving of words, I like!
Delightful word play, De, and thank you for the excellent prompt!
Oh to whim the wave and spill our salt! Yes!!
I love that ending, and I love the way this poem takes us into a place where life is “brailled” out to us in our sense and in our senses, and we are all the richer for that spill at the end. A wonderful quadrille–showing the strength of the form by making every word count. I love it when you host, De.
Wow! So many breathtaking lines …. cheers to you!
i love all the verbed nouns
“the ways we Braille
our way to shine
in
(fallen)
followed stars”
Stunning writing, De!
I just got back from the seaside and you have captured my walk in the sand. Wonderful.
