Greetings from a Distant Sighing Sky

Ah, love.
The world’s insane.

Wish me a dandelion kite,
a storm of ice, a startled star
-ling murmured twice.

Worrystone this warm butterscotch
candy sun until
the sweetest edges begin to fray
,
then build me a bold bright moon
to light our way.

It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse, and I’m hosting. I’ve missed a few past words along the way, so I’ve included them here, as well.

  1. I love the break of star-ling… so surprising, your turns are wonderful as usual, but that dandelion kite sounds perfect

Thanks, B. I had started a poem for the last Q, and never finished it (all that shoulder/wing pain for the past month). The first lines that came out today wanted to be its beginning.

Your title hooked me and the rest of the poem thrilled me, De. Especially the lines:
    ‘Wish me a dandelion kite,
a storm of ice, a startled star
    -ling murmured twice’.

Dee, I like this, like whimsical writing. Good Job!!
    ..
    Wanna be in the sky
    higher than my dandelion goes
higher than your kite can fly
    Wanna see you bad
Catch a sunray till flickers out
    sweet stuff sees me through
    Jump down to the moon
    over to your star
    Gonna be with you
    ..
