That Certain Slant of Sunlight

photo copy 6All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory.
– Psalm 84

….

You’re sneaking in again,
holding me fast and slow
-ing my heart. Let’s start
with this sky; how do I
take these bright shards,
these pieces of heaven
spilled down, into a heart
already full? How do I pull
You in with aching limbs,
tell my time-scarred skin
that even this wandered
wind is worth the wait?

    Wow. This gave me chills:
    “even this wandered
    wind is worth the wait”

The way He creeps back in is always the sweetest embrace of inner warmth. Like a hug inside your heart. This is a beautiful poem, De.

  2. I agree with the beauty of this poem – as well as the beauty of the picture! Love “ing my heart” – that is what faith does. And yes… the last two lines are wonderful!
