Her heart: all chambers

And so she holds her breath
in all the dry and quiet spaces,
in keeping with the rhythm

It’s Quadrille Monday over at dVerse, and Kim’s got a great word for us. Come play!
Another gentle quadrille, De, and the title is intriguing. I especially enjoyed the final stanza and the contrast of ’dry and quiet spaces’ with ‘the rhythm of the rain’.
delightful word play … how we need that rain 🙂
I really like this. The last stanza is stunning.
An excellent poem, a stunning quadrille. The last stanza is killer. I like the image of naivete, a heart with all chambers overflowing.
This is exquisitely drawn, De! ❤️ I love; “Her heart: all chambers full to overflowing.” There is such deep emotion in these words.
Sounds like the full heart seeks respite. There is a gentle flow to your words.
A lyrical write, skillfully worded.
You always have a way with words. Nicely done.
*sigh*
This is wonderful De, intriguing and enchanting.
From title to every line – an amazing rhythm to your heart De.
Your poem has a nice rhythm that flows with the rain.
Very nicely done!
Oh, that’s a stunner. So poignant.
Not so easy, that sort of keeping, a deep emotive place, powerful.
Love the imagery in the last line. . .
Nice ending. I like following the rhythm of the rain.
Oh I really love that rhythm… sometimes you just have to let your heartbeat follow the rain.
Oh! This is delightfully, totally deeeeelish.
This so lovely and gentle. All those chambers overflowing–and that last stanza is wonderful!
Better a heart that is full than one that is wanting.
