Stopping, by the Woods

{and miles to go}

..

We are dropping
our leaves again,
and praying for rain.

Staking our claims
in silt and soil,
toiling long and hard

and deep. We are steeping
our paper-thin souls
in all this breeze.

Please, let us be.
Let us
………(help you)
breathe.

..
With nod to Robert Frost

  1. I often find Robert Frost sitting on my shoulder. I’m glad someone else does, too. Love this piece. Trees are complex and fascinating.

  2. Kir Piccini says:

My Jacob is currently practicing for Into The Woods and we are knee deep in all things forest, trees and meanings of going in, going through, going out.
    This was perfection.
